Operations Accountant


Responsibilities and Duties:

Reports to the Controller, and as a member of the Accounts team, your major responsibilities will include daily accounting entries in AP and AR and assisting in monthly and year-end operations reporting for a multi-company organization.

  • Ensuring reasonableness and adequate approvals for payments have been obtained
  • Checking invoices against contracts, or purchase orders where applicable
  • Responsible for following-up with departments and suppliers on invoice issues or contracts
  • Vendors’ statement reconciliation
  • Reconciling inter company accounts, accruals and commissions and other GL accounts at each period end
  • Providing periodic accruals of outstanding bills at period end close
  • Monitoring accounts receivable for timely payments and communicating with customers with outstanding balances
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and any gaps and help establish effective and efficient accounting practices within the division
  • Assisting the controller during period and fiscal year-end close or other projects


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Enrolled in or completed CPA program, or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-company environment
  • Advanced level of MS Office skills with an emphasis in MS Excel
  • Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is preferred
  • Strong accounting, financial and analytical skills are essential

Full-time Operator – Nature’s Pride Nutrition


Responsibilities and Duties:

Reports to the Production Manager for the receiving, unloading, transferring and bagging of products.

  • Receive, unload, grind and transfer of products, by following established company procedures and quality controls.
  • Monitor commodity bins, including daily checks of bins and silo inventory.
  • Sample all incoming ingredients.
  • Fill and stack bags up to 50 lbs. on pallets as needed
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly safety and maintenance checks of unloading equipment.
  • Maintain and update all records and statistics according to Company standards.
  • Inform supervisor immediately of concerns or problems while helping to correct any mistakes.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Grade 12 Education
  • Must possess forklift certification or be certified within 3 months
  • Good command of written and spoken English language
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Able to do minor maintenance and repairs
  • Physical strength and stamina to fulfill the required duties and responsibilities
  • Previous Feed Mill experience an asset
