Egg Collector

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist on our Friesen Farms. This position will be full-time hours of approximately 30-40 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities:

  • It will involve gathering and washing eggs.
  • Ensure eggs from the barns are collected, handled and packed in accordance with Company standards.
  • Maintains and updates flock records and statistics.
  • Performs general cleaning of facilities and equipment.
  • Ensures accurate daily completion of records and statistics.
  • Informs supervisor and/or management immediately of any concerns and/or problems.
  • Responsible for the knowledge of all WHMIS regulations and procedures

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a good command of spoken and written English language.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills as well as organizational skill.
  • Ability to operate equipment and work aids commonly used.
  • Must be physically fit and able to perform lifting as required.

 

Compensation is between $11.35 to $12.40 depending upon experience

Farm Labourer

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist on our Friesen Farms. This position will be full-time hours of approximately 30-40 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing duties of general labor related to the farm such as cleaning, disinfecting, barn setup, in an efficient, effective, and cost effective manner.
  • Ability to perform minor electrical, carpentry, and farm equipment repairs.
  • Maintains and updates flock records and statistics.
  • Performs general cleaning of facilities and equipment.
  • Ensures accurate daily completion of records and statistics.
  • Informs supervisor and/or management immediately of any concerns and/or problems.
  • Responsible for the knowledge of all WHMIS regulations and procedures

Farm Maintenance Manager

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist with repairs and maintenance on farms. This position will be full-time hours of a minimum of 40 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily duties and tasks with the Director of Operations
  • Performs repairs & maintenance on poultry equipment – feeding, watering and heating
  • Performs construction and general maintenance repairs to poultry buildings
  • Participates, directs and supervises clean out of the farms
  • Assists with maintenance of all farm equipment and vehicles, and purchasing of equipment in conjunction with the Director of Operations
  • Functions as a team member
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience in the field of building, general maintenance & repairs
  • Must have excellent command of spoken and written English language
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to provide effective written and/or oral communications with internal and external work units
  • Ability to operate various types of farm equipment – tractors, bobcat, yard tools
  • Ability to train, direct, co-ordinate the work effort of a small group of workers
  • Possession of valid B.C Driver’s Class 5 License

Broiler Farm Manager

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist our Director of Operations. This position will be full-time hours of 45 hours per week.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, communicating and coordinating daily farm activities in an efficient, effective and cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for monitoring farm personnel to ensure all work activities are completed appropriately.
  • Responsible for being aware of, and the implementation of, the “Brooding Control Program” as prescribed by the Company.
  • Responsible for routine flock health maintenance program and for the reporting of any problems to the immediate Supervisor.
  • Monitors and orders all feed, supplies and equipment replacement parts as defined by the Supervisor.
  • Maintains bio-security facilities according to Company guidelines.
  • Problem solve as situations arise


Skills and Experience:

  • 3 or more years of experience working with poultry – growing broilers.
  • Ability to perform minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and farm equipment repairs.
  • Ability to operate a tractor is required.
  • Ability to maintain machinery and broiler barn equipment.
  • Ability to work at odd hours during shipping time.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Both a valid Canadian driver’s license as well as reliable transportation

Assistant Farm Manager

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist our Farm Manager as well as the Director of Operation. The role is to ensure that the farm is running smoothly and to assist with a lot of the supervisory work. This position will be full-time hours of 45 hours per week.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, communicating and coordinating daily farm activities in an efficient, effective and cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for monitoring farm personnel to ensure all work activities are completed appropriately.
  • Ability to perform minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and farm equipment repairs.

Hatchery Worker

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual as a chick hatchery worker for Pacific Pride Chicks. This is a part-time, entry level, non-skilled general labor position of approximately 20 – 24 hours a week. The successful candidate should have knowledge of poultry care.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performs all duties related to egg tray up, egg transfers, chick pulling, and chick delivery in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Performs general cleaning of hatchery facilities, setter rooms, hatcher rooms and equipment according to Company guidelines.
  • Ensures accurate daily completion of records and statistics.
  • Informs supervisor and/or management immediately of any concerns and/or problems.
  • Responsible for the knowledge of all WHMIS regulations and procedures

Weekend Class 4 Power Engineer – Operator 1

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist in the Clearbrook Grain & Milling Co. Ltd. mill. This position is responsible to the mill manager for the mixing, batching and pelleting of Poultry feeds following established Company procedures and quality controls. This is a part-time, weekend position.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for daily checking boiler function and daily manufacturing of feeds.
  • Ensures formulas, batching accuracy, mixing and sequencing procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for all required testing of finished feeds.
  • Responsible for daily Medication Reconciliation.
  • Ensure all pelleting is being produced in accordance with company guidelines. IE. Correct conditioning temperatures, correct texture, and correct liquid addition.
  • Ensure all forms pertaining to production are completed accurately.
  • Responsible for checking quality of and verification of all incoming ingredients (includes daily visual checks).
  • Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Ensures proper mill shut down.
  • Performs daily computer back-up and inventory reports

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Class 4 Boiler ticket endorsement
  • Previous feed mill experiences an asset
  • Computer experience and knowledge would be an asset to this position
  • Must have a good command of written and spoken English language.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in making decision and taking actions.

Class 1 Driver

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist in driving for Excel Feeds Inc.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for pre-trip vehicle inspections, and route inspections of truck and product.
  • Delivers and picks up products as required by assigned route, ensuring smooth fulfillment of daily tasks in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading bulk feed deliveries according to CFIA standards (including following sequencing and flushing procedures as required).
  • Maintains and updates all records and paperwork according to Company standards (i.e. Bill of lading, Inspection report (Pre-trip, En-route, Post-Trip, Trip Reports,           Unloading Logs).
  • Informs Manager immediately of concerns and/or problems while helping to correct any mistakes especially in regards to issues upon delivery of products.
  • Responsible for vehicle cleanliness according to Company standards and policies.
  • Responsible for verifying conveyances is up to date.
  • Responsible for all purchases applied to fuel card holder’s account.
  • Responsible for carrying the necessary and required equipment on vehicle (changes, safety gear).

 

 Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Class 1 driver’s license;
  • Must provide a copy of BC Driver’s License Abstract;
  • Must possess air brake certification
  • Must be able to operate equipment and work aids commonly used (atlases and other trip planning aids, perform brake adjustments, monitor vehicle performance        and mechanical fitness, perform emergency roadside repairs.)

Dairy Feed Sales and Service Representative

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist as a Dairy Feed Sales Representative for Clearbrook Grain & Milling Co. Ltd.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Generates and takes orders from customers, handles requests for quotations and follows up on requests for product information.
  • Make outbound calls to potential and existing customers by telephone or email to sell productions and services which result to be productive and profitable.
  • Develop a method to follow up on all quotations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and timely sales information.
  • Overcome business and technical objections of prospective customers.
  • Liaises with all sales staff to ensure that sales activities are met in a timely, and efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Assists in planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring Company sales and feed programs to enhance and maximize dairy production and performance.
  • Responsible for being familiar with product information; characteristics and product use recommendations.
  • Responsible for communicating sales, which may affect production and inventory to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and contact with, existing customers and potential prospects on a regular, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory counts including climbing bins if necessary on farm.
  • Maintains up-to-date information and knowledge on sales and market trends, product performance, and industry information.
  • Attend trade shows as necessary as it is productive and contributes to increases sales.
  • Assists in the preparation of the Sales Department operating budget, capital budget and operation plan.
  • Informs Feed Sales and Service Manager immediately of concerns and/ or problems.
  • Acts as a representative at key industry meetings and functions.

 

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum three (3) years sales and/or service experience in an agricultural related field.
  • Knowledge of customer and prospects considered an asset.
  • Animal husbandry experience preferred.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Agricultural Science or equivalent experience.
  • Possess Veterinary Drug Dispenser license or willing to acquire within three (3) month probationary period.

 

Skills Required:

  • Animal husbandry knowledge and skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Intermediate office software knowledge.
  • Must have a valid B.C. Driver’s License.

Sales Order Desk 

 

As the Friesen Group of Companies continues to grow and serve the local agricultural community, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual with a desire to be associated with a progressive company in the Agri-Business.  We are currently seeking to fill a Part-Time Sales Order Desk position for Clearbrook Grain & Milling Co. Ltd.

 

This position will be approximately 20 hours per week.  There will be some flexibility in the schedule, but ultimately we need mornings and weekend coverage.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Communicates with the production and sales staff for efficient planning of feed orders.
  • Maintains Order Entry system and includes updating customer delivery information.
  • Maintains customer contact and farm information database while administrating timely customer communication to assist sales team.
  • Prepare support for feed returns.
  • Develops sales and production statistical reports as requested.
  • Maintains ADS (Automatic Delivery System) in consultation with mill production staff.
  • Checks feed inventory from driver logs.
  • Takes on a variety of tasks to support sales representatives including administering objectives as directed by the sales manager.
  • Update reps on order status and delivery details so that they can keep customers informed.
  • Produces sales and tonnage reports to assist the sales manager in overall planning.
  • Send out Daily Tonnage Reports

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in customer service and administration;
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills;
  • Basic knowledge/awareness of different types of animal feed and flock cycles;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP Experience is an asset;
  • Experience with Feed Mill Manager;
  • A Certificate/Diploma is an asset;
  • A good command of the English language (both written and verbal).
