Technical Sales and Service Representative – Premix Division

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Technical Sales & Service Representative is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding premix business across Western Canada. This role combines territory sales, technical nutrition support, customer relationship management, and cross‑functional collaboration. This position will serve as a key technical resource for customers and internal teams, supporting premix manufacturing, ingredient strategies, and feeding programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Sales & Business Development

  • Pursue, develop, and maintain strong customer relationships across BC, AB, SK, and MB.
  • Generate and maintain new premix and ingredient customers.
  • Expand business beyond traditional markets by identifying new opportunities and emerging sectors.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, converting high‑value prospects into long‑term customers.
  • Represent Nature’s Pride Nutrition at key industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.

 Customer Support & Technical Service

  • Provide daily technical support to customers, including feeding programs, premix packages, and ingredient strategies.
  • Offer technical advice on premix manufacturing protocols, including ingredient substitutions when required.
  • Communicate promptly with customers and the supervisor regarding quality concerns or complaints.
  • Conduct regular on‑site customer visits to maintain strong working relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.

Formulation & Product Development

  • Under the supervision of a senior nutritionist, generate micro and macro premix formulations for input into the company system.
  • Develop functional expertise in Brill Feed Formulation software.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring premix, vitamin, and mineral programs to maximize customer performance.
  • Support customers in evaluating and integrating essential feed ingredients, innovative feed additives, and specialty blends as part of comprehensive nutritional programs.

Operational & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with quality assurance, production, and purchasing to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution.
  • Support purchasing by forecasting ingredient needs and qualifying new ingredients or suppliers.
  • Develop strategies to minimize production overruns and incorporate unsold or overrun products into formulations.
  • Assist in preparing operating budgets, capital budgets, and operational plans.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of market trends, product performance, and industry developments.

Pricing & Administration

  • Determine and set pricing based on costs and margins under the direction of the BDM.
  • Handle all incoming requests for quotations and product information.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and communication with internal teams and leadership.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum three (3) years technical experience in the feed industry serving in the capacity of nutritionist, quality assurance and premix technologies.
  • Knowledge of customer and prospects considered an asset.
  • Experience with agricultural production systems and animal husbandry.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science required; specializing in nutrition preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Must possess extensive understanding of Canadian Feed Acts and feed regulations
  • Experience with feed additives, functional ingredients, or premixes is an asset
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and support customer success
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Brill Formulation and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Western Canada
  • A self‑motivated, independent, result-driven mindset
  • A genuine enthusiasm for expanding your technical knowledge and growing within the industry

Salary:  $75,000 to $90,000
